Conductor

The Sing Australia conductors have an important role to play. They have to do a myriad of things, but most of these things will come naturally for the right person for the job. If you want to be a conductor, it is important that you have a good understanding of music and that you know the basics of conducting technique. It is also important that you really appreciate the goals of Sing Australia: that of teaching with spirit, and maintaining the love of singing. This includes being patient, encouraging and not being too fussy. Fun and singing lots of songs should remain the main object of the choir rehearsals. And it is a lot more fun singing through songs without stopping to correct every fault! The conductor is paid.
