DESCRIPTION:Through our contacts at the Archdiocese of Sydney\, Sing Australia have been invited to perform at this year’s Sydney Street Feast. The Street Feast is run annually and was created in conjunction with\, and is sponsored by\, the PAYCE Foundation\, Paynter Dixon\, St Merkorious Charity and Sydney’s Catholic Archdiocese in response to Pope Francis’ World Day of Poor. The Feast involves volunteers from many support organisations coming together to feed the homeless and the disadvantaged.\nIt’s to be held on the St. Mary’s Cathedral forecourt on Friday 17th November from 12 noon to 2:00pm. No stage is involved – we will sing on the forecourt\, with chairs to be provided. The location presents no foreseeable risks.\nWe have singers coming together from Gordon\, Ashbury\, Kiama\, Sutherland and St. George. Full uniform is required\, and a hat is recommended. Songs will be well-known songs for singers and for the audience from Books 3\, 4 and 5. There will be two sets of 6 songs each.

SUMMARY:Annual Charity Concert 2023
DESCRIPTION:The Gordon group will be holding their annual Charity Concert on Friday November 10th\, 2023\, starting at 8pm. The concert will be held in the Gordon East Public School Hall\, our regular Friday night location. Funds will be raised this year for StreetWork\, a local charity that provides mentorship programs for teenagers who struggle with mental health (often suicidal thoughts and self-harm)\, alcohol and substance misuse\, social isolation\, school or work disengagement\, youth crime and at risk of youth homelessness.\nMembers will perform on stage\, which has easy access and ample space to both stand and sit in safety. The conductor will perform from ground level on a slightly raised platform\, only 8 inches high and 1 metre square with safety rail behind. There are no other safety issues perceived.\nRefreshments will be served afterwards. Full uniform will be required.

DESCRIPTION:SA groups from Collaroy\, Ashbury and Gosford join the Gordon group for their Friday night singing to thank and celebrate the assistance provided to Gordon when first forming 11 years ago. We expect around 50 members attending – the hall and parking can easily accommodate this number of people. The Back to Gordon Night is held at the Gordon East Public School – the usual location for Gordon’s Friday night singing. There are no risks to members that are deemed reportable – the school hall\, grounds and facilities are well-lit and accessible for all.

No perceived risk.\n* Most of the group will stand on a raised platform approx 6m x 4m x 20cm high. There is a step to one side for those needing this.\nPerceived risk – falling off step. Measures taken to stop this – step is next to back wall which can be used to steady oneself. A group member will be responsible for standing on other side to assist singers stepping up. Same will apply when leaving platform.\n* No railing around sides and front of platform. Perceived risk of falling off. Measures taken to prevent this..- those standing on stage will leave a metre gap at front and sides. Platform stands flush against a back wall as does the piano.\nOther singers will stand on floor at sides of platform whilst singing. Chairs will be offered for those who wish to sit at front on floor level. No perceived risks for them.\n* Conductor will stand on large box approx 15cms high and a metre square. Perceived risk – falling off. Measure taken to prevent this – conductor will stand at front of box which adjoins stage/platform. It is a solid box\, so no chance of tipping.\n* All those singing will be financial members of Sing Australia.\n* As Leader and organiser of this event\, I am happy with the safe arrangements which have been put in place.

DESCRIPTION:Sing Australia Gordon have been invited once again to lead the singing at The Anzac Day Dawn Service at Roseville Memorial Park this year. The service starts promptly at 5:00am. The usual three songs will be in the service program: Abide With Me (verses 1\, 2\, 4 and 5)\, Amazing Grace (verses 1\, 2\, 3 and 6) and the Australian National Anthem (Advance Australia Fair – both verses 1 and 2). All songs are found in the Anzac Songbook. Full uniform is required. Breakfast will be served in the adjacent Roseville Club afterwards for all attendees. Remember: parking is more freely available on the northern side of Roseville station.

DESCRIPTION:Sing Australia Gordon will once again lead the singing at Huon Park\, North Turramurra for their Carols By Candlelight event. Subject to weather\, singing will begin from the pavilion adjacent to the bowling green. We will then complete the singing indoors in the residents’ lounge. Refreshments will be served by the residents afterwards. \nJoin the residents in song and help raise money towards our selected charity for 2022\, Symphony for Life Foundation. \nHuon Park is located on Bobbin Head Road\, on the corner of the roundabout at the northern end of the golf course. There is little parking available inside the village – please park near the entrances in either Bobbin Head Road or Curagul Road. \nFull uniform is required as well as the traditional Christmas bling (Santa hats etc). Both Christmas Books 1 and 2 will be required. Full songlist and required books will be confirmed prior to the event.

DESCRIPTION:Sing Australia Gordon is turning 10 and will be hosting its Back to Gordon Night on Friday 2nd September 2022 at 7:15pm at the Gordon East Public School Hall\, corner of Rosedale and Cameron Roads\, Gordon East. \nWe invite members of other Sing Australia groups to join us on the night\, particularly from the Collaroy and Gosford groups who helped run the workshop 10 years ago. It’s our opportunity to show our appreciation and thank all our buddies from other groups who helped us along the way. \nMarg Nicolson\, previous member of Head Office and Leader and Conductor at Sing Australia Dubbo who ran the initial workshop in August 2012 will be joining us to share conducting duties with Louise McDonald. \nIt will be a themed night – “Australian Green and Gold”\, with plenty of Aussie favourites to sing. We encourage you to don a hat and some green and gold for the night. Celebratory refreshments will also be served. \nLet us know if you can make it. It promises to be a fun night\, as always. Visitors new to Sing Australia are also welcome.

DESCRIPTION:Sing Australia Gordon have been invited once again to lead the singing at The Anzac Day Dawn Service at Roseville Memorial Park this year. \nThe service starts promptly at 5:00am. The usual three songs will be in the service program: Abide With Me (verses 1\, 2\, 4 and 5)\, Amazing Grace (verses 1\, 2\, 3 and 6) and the Australian National Anthem (Advance Australia Fair – both verses 1 and 2). All songs are found in the Anzac Songbook. Full uniform is required. \nBreakfast will be served in the adjacent Roseville Club afterwards for all attendees. Remember: parking is more freely available on the northern side of Roseville station.

Refreshments will be served afterwards. \nSongs to be performed by Sing Australia Gordon will be The Rose (Book 6)\, Hallelujah (Book 4)\, Walking in the Air (Book 4) and Song of Peace (Dona Nobis Pacem) led by Tina and Ann. We will be accompanied by Lindsay on piano and the students on violin. Full uniform is required. \nFriends and relatives are welcome to attend. There is no charge but attendees can make a donation at the door.

DESCRIPTION:Sing Australia Gordon will be leading the singing at a Christmas Concert to be held at Huon Park\, North Turramurra. Join the residents in song and help raise money towards our selected charity\, Youth Off The Streets. \nHuon Park is located on Bobbin Head Road\, on the corner of the roundabout at the northern end of the golf course. There is little parking available inside the village – please park near the entrances in either Bobbin Head Road or Curagul Road. We will begin our performance on the outdoor bowling green in the centre of the village (assuming the weather is suitable) before moving to the adjacent indoor residents lounge area. \nFull uniform is required as well as the traditional Christmas bling (Santa hats etc). Both Christmas Books 1 and 2 will be required.
