SUMMARY:Merchant Navy Day Memorial Service
DESCRIPTION:Annual service to remember and commemorate those who have lost their lives in the Merchant Navy during conflicts. We first sang for this group at the 80th Anniversary of Allied Service in the Pacific in March 2022\, and then at the Merchant Navy Day Service last year. \nWe sing from the Order of Service placed in our Anzac Books and so do not require bags for our books. We usually place any members items out of the way in the keyboard bag to reduce clutter. The marquee provides protection from the elements in this outdoor service. We will support the service by singing the Naval Hymn\, the National Anthem and finish the service with Let There be Peace on Earth. \nThe Port Adelaide and Enfield Council now take responsibility for setting up the memorial area\, making sure there is no risks\, thus making it easy for us to just arrive and set up our keyboard to plug into their PA system. No perceived risks.

DESCRIPTION:Singing as part of the program of a cabaret style event to showcase and celebrate local talent staged by the Blackwood Action Group. We have been invited to perform a 15 to 20 minute bracket of high energy songs which we have chosen from Songs Around the Piano 1. Colleen and Bernie will be local faces\, with Bernie conducting. We intend to give out loan books and encourage the paying audience to sing along with us. The event is being held in the new Blackwood Library and community centre known as Tiwi Kumangka. With only 1 songbook to be taken to our singing location\, a professional set up for the show\, and the likelihood that we will be in front of the small stage\, we do not foresee any risks. This is a fantastic opportunity for exposure to a broad audience.

SUMMARY:Merchant Navy Day Memorial Service
DESCRIPTION:Annual service to remember and commemorate those who have lost their lives in the Merchant Navy during conflicts. We first sang for this group at the 80th Anniversary of Allied Service in the Pacific in March 2022\, and then at the Merchant Navy Day Service last year. The Port Adelaide and Enfield Council now take responsibility for setting up the memorial area\, making it easy for us to just arrive\, set up our speakers and amplification system under the marquee provided\, and take up our positions for the service. We sing from the Order of Service placed in our Anzac Books and so do not require bags for our books. We usually place any members items out of the way in the keyboard bag to reduce clutter. The marquee provides protection from the elements in this outdoor service. We will support the service by singing the Naval Hymn\, the National Anthem and finish the service with Let There be Peace on Earth.

DESCRIPTION:Annette\, our diligent Glenelg member\, has invited us to sing at the retirement village “THE PINES” where she lives.\nOur joyous Glenelg singers will perform just after the resident’s lunch led by Mark\, our conductor and Emma at the piano. \nThe gig’s brief is “Songs of the ’50s and ’60’s”. It’s forecast to be a fun afternoon ! \nOur choir will perform in the room adjacent to the dining room. It’s located on the ground floor with a ramp access if needed and three steps at the entrance. No other hazard has been detected during our visit on site.\nThe singers will leave their belongings on the side of the room. They will only have three books with them.

SUMMARY:Funeral Service for Stephanie Williams
DESCRIPTION:We will be honoured to sing as part of the service to celebrate the life of Stephanie Williams\, one of our members from 2018 until this year. While only a member for 5 years\, Sing Australia became a very significant and enjoyable part of her life\, and close friendships were forged with other members. In the lead up to her death\, Stephanie and her daughter planned her service to ensure it included some of her favourite songs – As Long as I Have Music\, Dancing Queen and most especially\, Why We Sing. We will only need Book 4\, and in the largest chapel in Centennial Park\, we will have room to sit together\, perhaps moving to sing to an adjacent space to our seats. I envisage no tripping issues or other unforeseen risks.

For one hour we will be lifting the spirit and mood of around 20 residents.\nMark and Mary\, one of our conductors and pianists\, will be leading our singing. \nWe will perform in the activities room located on the ground floor. Our singers will have only their books close to them. Bags will be left in one corner of the room to avoid any fall risk.

DESCRIPTION:The Mum of one of our regular singer lives at Allity Walkerville.\nSome twenty singers from Sing Australia Glenelg will perform in the activities room in front of a crowd of about 30 residents.\nThe room is wide and safely equipped. Chairs for the pianist and requiring singers will be provided by the facility. The room is located on the ground floor and is easily accessible. It is used by the residents on a daily basis.\nOur singers won’t face any risk and their bags will be placed safely on one side. \nWe will perform for one hour lead by our conductor\, Mark and pianist\, Angela singing a wide repertoire fit for a nursing home crowd.

SUMMARY:Rotary Club of Blackwood Changeover Lunch
DESCRIPTION:Singing for 30 minutes as guests arrive for lunch and the formal proceedings. We will be located in the entrance foyer outside the first floor dining room at the top of a staircase and adjacent to the lift. The space where we will sing will provide maximum exposure both to the Rotarian guests but also to other parts of the Golf Club (with full support of the Golf Club). We will be out of the traffic area\, with ample room for chairs for those who need to sit. Our bags will be stored in another corner and so singers will only require their 2 books\, and water. This will result in an uncluttered and safe space\, with power adjacent to the keyboard location and therefore no cords can create tripping hazards. Singer numbers are estimated to be between 15 and 20.

DESCRIPTION:We will be singing for the National Seniors Australia group at the Lighthouse Community Church. We have been asked to attend the meeting at 10.00am and stay for morning tea at 10.30 before singing qt 11.00am until 12.00 noon if we wish to do so. Some of our group will choose to do this. A piano on the stage is available to us to use and the singers will be next to the stage in pews and will stand to sing.
