Australia Day Celebrations in Milawa

Milawa Australia Day Celebrations 2017
Wangaratta Sing Australia Group will gather at the McAliece Park Soundshell in Milawa at 6pm on Australia Day. We provide the pre ceremony entertainment with four songs commencing at 6.15pm. It is always a pleasure to attend Milawa Australia Day where we are welcome to join them for a BBQ and we bring salads and desserts to share as rural people manage to do so well. We have also participated in the donut eating competition with a string threaded with donuts and tied betweeen two trees. Clearly it is a skill practised by the locals as they continue to win the prizes annually. The Australia Day Committee show great hospitality to Sing Australia Group by inviting us to have our meal prior to the local crowd and then we sing for our supper another four songs as the crowd enjoys their meal. The small community takes great pride in their presentations to local residents and school children who will no longer be attending the local primary school in Milawa. Always a memorable occasion and a delight for us to attend.
